The Carbon Valley Veterans Memorial is located at SH52 and Colorado Blvd. This memorial was constructed to honor Veterans throughout the Carbon Valley who have served during a time of conflict or non-conflict, and been honorably discharged.
Wall of Honor
The Wall of Honor recognizes Carbon Valley Veterans. Veterans, or their families, seeking to have a name placed on the Wall of Honor should obtain an application from the City of Dacono. The Veteran's name, branch of service, and dates of service will be on the wall.
In addition to the application, a copy of the DD-214 form, Certificate of Release or Discharge From Active Duty, is required with the submittal to verify military service. All documentation will be verified. Go to National Archives for assistance obtaining documentation.
Currently, there is no cost to have a Veteran’s name placed on the Wall of Honor if the Veteran is deceased or can demonstrate current or past Dacono residency. Veterans from the remaining Carbon Valley area can have their named added to the Wall of Honor for a $50 engraving fee. There will also be opportunities to help support the project through donor tiles on the seat walls. Pricing and sizing options will be available soon.
The deadline to submit an application is May 5, 2017. The intent is to have Phase I of the Wall of Honor completed in advance of the Carbon Valley Veterans Memorial dedication on Memorial Day. Names received after May 5, 2017 will be on Phase II in 2018.
