Public School Districts

Dacono is located within two different school districts, the St. Vrain Valley School District and the Weld County RE-8 School District. 

St. Vrain Valley School District

The St. Vrain Valley School District is the seventh largest in the state serving more than 33,000 students. St. Vrain Valley operates 60 schools and programs. The makeup of the schools includes 25 Elementary, 8 Middle, 1 Middle/Senior, 7 High Schools, 1 K-8, 2 PK-8, 1 Spark! Discovery Preschool, 1 Alternative High, 1 Online High, 1 Online PK-12, 2 P-TECH Schools, 1 High-Quality Homeschool Enrichment School, 1 Main Street Special Education program, 1 Career Development Center program, 1 Innovation Center program, and 6 Charter Schools.

Weld County Re-8

Weld County School District Re-8’s Kenneth Homyak PK-8 is a core knowledge magnet school. With smaller than average class size, Academy students regularly perform above average in every subject at every grade level. The school opened in the Fall of 2018.

Higher Education

Higher education becomes more affordable in Weld County through the Bright Future Grant Program. Set up as a workforce development fund, the Weld County Bright Future Grant Program is a tuition assistance program for Weld County high school graduates, GED recipients and Honorable Discharged U.S. Veterans seeking post secondary education or training from an accredited higher education institution or certified training program.
