My water service was disconnected because I failed to pay my utility bill. How do I get my water service reconnected?: The full account balance (unpaid and current months balance) and a disconnect fee must be paid before water service can be restored. The schedule of Service Termination for Non-Payment (disconnect) fees can be found on the back of the water bill. Full payment must be submitted at the customer service counter at City Hall for to assure your water will be reconnected on the same day.

1. How do I establish water service for an existing property?: Please contact the Dacono water department office at (303) 833-2317 ext.121. The title company or resident will need to submit a recorded warranty deed through Weld County to set up a new account with the City.

2. What if I cannot pay my water bill?: City of Dacono utility bills are due by the last business day of the month, for the previous month’s service. If you are unable to pay your utility bill in full, you can sign a water payment agreement. The agreement will provide an extension of time for payment and avoid having your water shut off. You must sign the agreement before your water is shut off to avoid the disconnect fee. Delinquent notices are mailed when the current bills are processed. The delinquent notice includes a $5.00 late fee and the payment due date is stated on the delinquent notice.

6. Can a small leak (such as a toilet leak) increase my bill very much?: Yes, a typical toilet can leak around 2 gallons per minute. If this is not repaired, a toilet can leak up to 3,000 gallons of water a day. A pipe with a small leak can leak from 24,000 to 394,000 gallons of water in one month’s time.

7. How can I locate water lines?: Please call 811 (1-800-922-1987), before you dig. The City of Dacono Public Works Department will only mark the City’s water mains and the service line to the water meter. 8. How do I establish trash service for my residence and when is the trash picked up?: Trash service is provided to all residents by Waste Connections of Colorado and is billed on your monthly utility statement by the City. The billing for trash service is set up at the same time the water account is established. Please contact Waste Connections of Colorado at (303) 288-2100 to order extra service carts or with service issues. Trash is picked up every Thursday, except during their holiday schedule. Recycling is picked up every other Thursday.
